IT ALL STARTED ON KICKSTARTER
THIS GIRL'S TEES was a project of passion. I wanted these shirts out there. I wanted girls to have them and wear them and embrace the messages that they contain. I needed help to bring my product to market. From October 25th to November 25th, 2013 THIS GIRL'S TEES ran a Kickstarter Campaign (view it here) to fund the first run of shirts. Within its first week running, the campaign was fully funded. I cannot express how grateful I am about all the support and enthusiasm I've received surrounding this project. Now my plan is to grow the brand further through online and traditional markets, bringing more shirts and more designs to smart, strong girls everywhere!
It's a funding incubator for creative projects. If people like a project, they can pledge money to make it happen. Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing — projects must reach their funding goals to receive any money. Backers are supporting projects to help them come to life, not to profit financially. Instead, project creators offer rewards to thank backers for their support. Backers of an effort to make a book or film, for example, often get a copy of the finished work. Creators set a funding goal and deadline.
WHO'S THIS GIRL?
That'd be me, Kris. I work as a Graphic Designer just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. My husband and I have two daughters. They are seven and four. We believe they're capable of doing anything. We feel it's important that they believe it too.
